Lumu & the MSP Community: 2024 in Review

Table of Contents

In 2024, Lumu’s partnerships and connections to the MSP community have grown from strength to strength. We collaborated closely with our MSP partners to make meaningful changes to the Lumu for MSPs offering that empower their cybersecurity capabilities. As 2024 comes to a close, join us as we reflect on key innovations, memorable conference moments, and the stories shared by our valued partners.

Lumu for MSPs

At Lumu, we’re constantly listening to our MSP partners to improve our product. We strive to create a seamless and intuitive experience for everything you need to do within the Lumu portal — from managing your client relationships and delivering exceptional security services to proactively protecting their critical assets.

As we approach the close of 2024, we’re excited to highlight the latest innovations and enhancements we’ve implemented in Lumu for MSPs over the previous year.

Playback Evolution: Network Log Storage and Retention

This year, Lumu delivered a highly requested feature: the ability to query and access stored network logs.  MSPs need access to the logs gathered by Lumu for hands-on incident analysis by their security experts. Furthermore, by accessing logs stored by Lumu, MSPs can eliminate data storage redundancies and the costs associated with storing this data in a SIEM solution.

With our improved Playback feature, MSPs can now rely on Lumu to address their top logging challenges — high costs, compliance requirements, and the limitations of traditional SIEMs. We set ourselves the mission to equip MSPs with an efficient, scalable, and cost-effective solution for network log storage and analysis. Lumu’s Playback log storage capability lets organizations retain critical network logs for up to two years, complete with querying.

By focusing on the most relevant network metadata, we optimize data retention, support compliance, and give MSPs the power to conduct forensic investigations.

Network Analytics: Deeper Insights for Proactive Threat Detection

Lumu has developed a new analytics feature that empowers MSPs to view network behavior through their customers’ eyes, uncovering unusual activity like unexpected traffic patterns or interactions with suspicious domains.

Visual tools make it easy to analyze data by geography, time, and type, helping MSPs proactively identify risks impacting clients.

The Anomalies section of the portal highlights suspicious behaviors early, enabling teams to respond before threats escalate, whether detecting hidden risks like Domain Generation Algorithms (DGAs) or uncovering DNS Tunneling attempts.

This feature gives security teams the context and confidence to tackle evolving threats, and is a great example of our vision of smarter, more proactive cybersecurity for everyone.

These analytics also give our partners more opportunities to visually communicate the value and importance of their work to their both existing and prospective clients.

Latest Integrations

Our development team listened to you! They worked hard to ensure that MSPs can integrate Lumu effectively with the applications that you use in your stack and day-to-day operations. In total, we introduced 25 new integrations for Data Collection, Incident Response, and Security Operations – that’s roughly one every two weeks!

Here’s a quick summary of which integrations are new, in case you missed them:

Data Collection

Incident Response

SecOps

Lumu for MSPs now offers effortless integrations with all these applications, expanding upon the existing range of integrations used by our partners prior to this year.

Lumu & the MSP Community

In 2024, we also got out and about and met MSPs at several conferences and events, including hosting events specifically for our MSP friends.

Right of Boom

Back in February, we took part in Right of Boom 2024 — a cybersecurity event built for MSPs. Check out this video recap of our Right of Boom 2024 Keynotes.

IT Nation Connect 2024

In June, we put together a workshop for MSPs at IT Nation Secure 2024. We discussed topics including SecOps for MSPs, how to optimize cybersecurity with visibility and response automation, reporting strategies for business growth, customer satisfaction, and an MSPs’ guide to MITRE.

DattoCon Miami 2024

Lumu set sail with the MSP community at DattoCon this November, hosting an unforgettable yacht cruise through the waters of Miami Harbor.

IT Nation Connect

At IT Nation Connect, in November, we hosted a Pre-Conference Workshop for MSPs which focused on topics such as pricing models for cybersecurity services and how to increase MSP sales.

Check out our blog about our experiences here: Cybersecurity Insights for MSPs: Lessons from IT Nation Connect 2024. And the video highlights of Pre-Conference Workshop for MSPs.

What Did Our Partners Say About Lumu This Year?

Finally, this was an exciting year for testimonial videos, as we sat down with several of our MSP partners. Check out what they had to say about how Lumu has improved their service to clients and allows them to feel more confident in the security solutions that they offer.

Onward to 2025

As we reflect on 2024, Lumu has continued to grow alongside our valued MSP partners. The evolving cybersecurity landscape has led to innovation, integration, and community. With more advanced logging capabilities and many new integrations, we’ve strived to provide MSPs with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly complex threat environment.

Lumu is incredibly grateful for the relationships we’ve built with our partners, and, as we move into 2025, we look forward to another year of growth and improvement, driven by your needs, and an ever-changing cybersecurity threat ecosystem.
